I've answered the most common questions here. If you have another question, reach out! I'm happy to help!
Can we use you as our MC too? How much will you charge?
Absolutely! I love to stay and help you celebrate. I call this my mini MC service; while I don’t guarantee comedic or entertaining skills, I promise to keep your reception running smoothly. I’ll make key announcements like the bridal couple entry, meal service, cake cutting, speeches, first dance, and open dance floor. I will work with other vendors to ensure everything aligns with your reception timeline. Having me as your MC is beneficial since I already know you, your story, and the vibe you want. This service is $450 for 5 hours of reception time.
Will you take care of the paperwork for us?
Of course! That's part of my role. I handle all legal requirements. By the time your reception starts (unless I'm also MCing), I'll be at home ensuring everything is compliant before submitting your documents to Births, Deaths and Marriages. If you requested one, I'll also order your Official Marriage Certificate at this time. The day after your wedding, I'll email you the confirmation from BDM to assure you everything is submitted. All you need to do is wait, and within 4 weeks your marriage will be registered, with your official Certificate sent to your home address.
Will you play our ceremony music?
I will happily play your pre-ceremony music from my PA system for at least 30 minutes prior to your ceremony. This music, sourced from my Spotify playlist, primarily features acoustic love songs to create the perfect ambiance. You can also choose your own songs to include in a custom playlist.
However, the songs for key ceremony moments, like the bridal entry and signing of papers, must be played by a responsible person you've selected, typically a guest. I will coordinate with this person before the ceremony to ensure they know the songs and timings, and they are welcome to connect to my speaker via Bluetooth. It's advisable for them to attend the rehearsal to practice the cues.
This arrangement allows me to fully focus on you, ensuring your ceremony flows smoothly and perfectly.
Why should we choose you over someone else?
I'll be honest. I'm not the celebrant who is young, hip and overly out there. That's just not me. What I offer is warmth, calm and a genuine connection. I'm approachable, down to earth, and what you see, is truly what you get. I create ceremonies that feel natural, personal and heartfelt, not over the top performances. If you're looking for someone to bring authenticity, steadiness and a friendly presence to your day, that's exactly where I shine.
We have no idea what we want. Can you guide us?
That's what I'm here for! You don't need to have anything figured out when you first get in touch. In fact, most couples start exactly where you are. I'll walk you through each option, give you examples and help you discover what feels right for you both. There's no need to stress!
Do we need to purchase the official marriage certificate?
Not at all! While many couples opt for this, especially if changing names, asking me to handle it saves you time and hassle later. The cost is $70, which includes postage and handling. If you choose not to purchase the Official Certificate now, you can do so later, but it may take more effort. I can take care of it quickly with just a few extra clicks!
Help! We're terrible at public speaking!
I completely understand! However, both parties must say specific legal words for your marriage to be compliant. There are 21 required words: "I call upon the persons here present to witness that I (name) take you (name) to be my lawful wedded (husband/wife/partner)." That's it! Everything else is optional, including personal vows, which couples sometimes choose to share privately. Rest assured, I will guide you through your ceremony, allowing you to focus on each other.
Do you offer customized packages?
Yes! I offer customized packages tailored to your specific needs and budget for weddings. Click on My Packages to see the different packages on offer.
What is the NOIM?
The NOIM (Notice Of Intended Marriage) is the first legal document you need to lodge with me. It's a notice of your intention to marry each other. You don’t need to download this form as I will provide it. I’ll assist you in completing it and can act as a witness if you fill it out in my presence, which I recommend. If you complete it independently, you’ll need an authorised person to witness your signatures before lodging it with me (a list of authorised persons is on page 4 of the NOIM). The NOIM must be lodged with me at least one month before your wedding and no more than 18 months prior. I know it may seem overwhelming, but with my help, it will be easy.
What are the minimum legal words required?
You'd be surprised how little needs to be spoken to get you married! I say:
My name is Rose Genitori and I am duly authorised by law to solemnize the marriage between (?) and (?). Marriage according to law in Australia is the union of 2 people to the exclusion of all others voluntarily entered into for life. Before you are joined in marriage, in my presence and in the presence of these witnesses, I am to remind you of the serious and binding nature of the relationship into which you are now about to enter.
And YOU BOTH say:
I call upon the persons here present to witness that I (?) take you (?) to be my lawful wedded husband/wife/partner
And that's it! You're married! (As well as signing your paperwork with 2 witnesses present.)
Do you travel for weddings and what are the extra costs?
I service Geelong and the surrounding areas within a 30km radius. All travel within this zone is included in my fee.
If your ceremony is just outside that area, feel free to ask and depending on the location, I'll let you know if I can be available for your day and of any extra travel costs.
